Lebanon: Israel Carries Out Airstrikes Near Sidon

Israel carried out 2 airstrikes targeting alleged Hezbollah weapons warehouse locations near Sidon on Monday, February 19. Lebanese state-run National News Agency reported that "Israeli warplanes carried out strikes on the town of Ghaziyeh". The Israeli army said that the attack was in "response to to the explosion of an enemy drone, the wreckage of which was found near the Tiberias area this afternoon." KABUL, Afghanistan - Used Japanese cars, mostly former Japanese company vehicles, get a second lease on life as taxis on the dusty streets in Kabul. Many taxi operators choose to keep the company logos and phone numbers written in Japanese on the car as shown in this photo as ''proof that it is made in Japan,'' Asef, a Kabul car dealer, told Kyodo News last week in reference to the believed reliability of Japanese cars.

Local authorities in western Japan mark the ''Coming of Age'' of a restored steam-locomotive train service linking Okori in Yamaguchi Prefecture and Tsuwano in Shimane Prefecture 69 kilometers to the north. Built in 1937, the SL train nicknamed ''Kifujin'' (your ladyship) was retired in 1972 and got a second lease of life in 1979 to serve as a tourist attraction on the JR Yamaguchi line straddling the two prefectures.
